Macie Video Service has been serving the Broadcast and Professional Video Industry since 1990. Roger Macie started this business out of his home garage, servicing local Boston area television and video production companies, and newly emerging freelance videographers. Growing primarily by word of mouth, they have built a national client base of 2,700 by 2009. This phenomenal growth has been generated by their expertise with camera set-ups, utilizing the Macie Uniform Standard, and top-notch maintenance and repairs of camcorders and decks.

Starting his video career with a BSEE from Northeastern University (class of 1971), Roger's first video experience was with Videocom Inc., the first video production facility east of New York City. He then moved on to WCVB-TV (ABC), WGBH-TV (PBS), and the Christian Science Monitor Channel, honing his expertise in television engineering, maintenance and camera alignments, shading, and matching.

Macie Video Service was also blessed with some of the most talented technicians in the industry. Mike Golden and Paul Celona are both former Sony techs, and are as sharp as they come. Dan Gallagher is another tech that with a mechanical background that fit right into the operational and service needs of Macie Video.

The best part of having such a good crew, especially after being “tied to the bench” for so many years, is that they are able to fill all the maintenance and camera set-up needs. This freed up some of Roger's time to concentrate on adapting his business to the ever-changing video industry. What he has noticed has been with the transition to high-definition field acquisition, that the demand for technical expertise has resulted in a need for on-location camera shading, engineering, technical consulting, and training. These services are now being offered.
